What does our internship consist of?The environmental leadership program GREEN-PR is a unique opportunity to develop professional experience and leadership in sustainable development initiatives in Puerto Rico. During the event, leaders around Puerto Rico will receive training in Sustainable Materials Management (MSM), which includes reduction, reuse, recycling, food preservation and composting. Once trained, participants will work alongside local NGOs, implementing SMM programs in various schools, centers, trainings, festivals, events and universities throughout Puerto Rico. In addition, the training will focus on how to create working groups and educational videos, how to turn ideas into action plans, and how to foster youth leadership on environmental issues. Find us on Facebook
Students will be responsible for implementing projects related to one or more of the following areas: creating SMM educational curriculum and materials, creating community compost sites and providing workshops, coordinating events and providing workshops to schools, providing support to community gardens, rainwater collection and composting projects, facilitating workshops for K-12 teachers on SMM and composting, using social media to promote local reuse projects and work alongside professional organizations providing technical assistance to landfill operators and recycling coordinators.
