Vieques Recycling Partnership
The Vieques Recycling Partnership was created in an effort to encourage sustainability efforts in this Pilot Community. Currently university interns from the Sustainable Materials Management Eductaion Program are working to establish both municipal and school composting programs on Vieques. To learn more or to get involved with a composting project near you, contact Ana Verónica Arache.
The PRRP has developed a School Chapter Page intended for students' as well as the public's educational use. As a PRRP Pilot Community, Vieques will be the host of innovative, environmentally focused school curricula. The VRP encourages Vieques students of all ages to first learn about solid waste management issues on a local, regional and global scale, and then get involved locally!
