Guaynabo
Guaynabo is a municipality located in the northeastern portion of the main island of Puerto Rico. Guaynabo is a part of the larger San Juan metropolitan area and has a population of approximately 98,000. It is recognized for its history and traditions, as well as its modern infrastructure and growing economic development.
Guaynabo has been chosen as a PRRP pilot community because of its existing and well-established recycling programs and infrastructure. Many of the best practices experienced by Guaynabo could be replicated elsewhere in Puerto Rico.
